The Obama Family Faces Unfortunate News

Regrettably, Michelle Obama’s mother has passed away, as verified by relatives. She reached the age of 86. Family members confirmed that she peacefully passed away this morning.

Marian Robinson, my mother, was my rock, always there to back me in any way I required, as stated by the former First Lady on X on Friday. “She offered that same unchanging support for our entire family, and it is with heavy hearts that we share the news of her passing today.”

The former President Obama expressed on X, “There was and will only be one Marian Robinson.” He added, “In our grief, we find solace in the remarkable legacy she has left. We will commit our lives to upholding her example.”

Marian Robinson, originally known as Marian Lois Shields, was born on July 30, 1937. She is the mother of Michelle Obama, who served as the First Lady of the United States.

Marian Robinson was wedded to Fraser Robinson III and is the proud grandmother of Malia and Sasha Obama. She played a significant part in her family’s life, particularly during her daughter Michelle’s tenure in the White House.

In her early adulthood, Marian married Fraser Robinson III, a World War II veteran who worked as a pump operator for the Chicago Water Department. They established their residence in a humble community on the South Side of Chicago and welcomed two children, Craig and Michelle. Even though Fraser had a steady position, it often required extended hours, leaving Marian to manage the household and raise their children. She stressed the principles of honesty, education, and perseverance in their upbringing.

The family frequently reminisced about how Mrs. Robinson observed her parents navigate the obstacles of racial segregation. Her father, Purnell Shields, encountered impediments that prevented him from joining a union or being employed by certain construction firms due to his race.

Throughout Barack Obama’s presidency, Marian resided in the White House to support the First Family, particularly her granddaughters. She was acknowledged for bringing a sense of normality and steadiness to Malia and Sasha’s lives as they matured in the public eye. Despite the eminence of her daughter and son-in-law, Marian maintained a low profile and was viewed as a consistent presence in the Obama family.

After exiting the White House in early 2017, Michelle’s mother returned to Chicago, where she lived out her latter years.
