The world was shocked by the tragic passing of Hollywood legend Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

But now, a disturbing new theory has emerged — one that casts a chilling shadow over the events leading up to their deaths. A close friend of the actor has broken their silence, revealing a haunting detail…

The tragic death of Hollywood icon Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, has been surrounded by mystery, shocking details, and swirling theories.

The couple was found dead in their New Mexico home last month, with officials stating they had been deceased for some time before being discovered by neighborhood security. But now, authorities have uncovered new evidence that changes everything —including the timeline of when they believe the Academy Award-winning actor and his wife actually died.

New information

At first, officials believed Betsy Arakawa passed away on February 11, with Gene Hackman following one week later. However, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office has now revised that timeline.

New cell phone data reveals that Arakawa made multiple calls to a health clinic on February 12, seeking medical attention — calls that, according to the clinic, never led to her receiving treatment. Authorities only discovered this crucial detail after analyzing data from her phone.

The sheriff’s office clarified that they never officially reported a date of death for Betsy Arakawa but initially stated her last known activity was on February 11.

According to authorities, she had exchanged emails with a massage therapist that day and was seen visiting a grocery store, a pharmacy, and a pet store. Data from her garage clicker confirmed she arrived home around 5:15 p.m.

Dr. Josiah Child, the head of Cloudberry Health, told the BBC that while the clinic had never treated either Gene Hackman or Arakawa, she did reach out seeking medical advice.

”She called and described some congestion but didn’t mention any respiratory distress, shortness of breath, or chest pain,” Dr. Child revealed.

The ‘fatal’ mistake

Official reports confirmed that Gene Hackman was battling advanced dementia and severe heart disease, while his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 65, tragically succumbed to the rare and deadly Hantavirus. But now, a close friend has come forward with a chilling new theory about what really happened in their final days.

Tom Allin, Hackman’s longtime business partner and friend of over 20 years, has broken his silence — revealing shocking details about the couple’s isolation and the heartbreaking mistakes that may have sealed their fate.

Speaking to Mail Online, Allin, 75, claimed that Betsy Arakawa had kept Hackman in complete isolation, refusing outside help — even though the couple’s massive $80 million fortune could have easily afforded round-the-clock care.

”I don’t think she allowed anybody in the house, especially in the last six months,” Allin said. ”But she was little. If he fell, she would have a hard time lifting him.”

Allin’s chilling theory

He described Betsy as fiercely protective, unwilling to let anyone step in, even as Hackman’s health declined. But he also shared that Hackman ”seemed content” with Arakawa taking charge and ”running things” in their home.

”She was going to do everything to protect him until he passed away,” he said. But in a tragic twist, she was the one who died first — something she never saw coming.

Reflecting on her decision to handle everything alone, Allin suggested it may have been a fatal mistake. ”If Betsy’s absolute goal of privacy ended up not being helpful at all,” he speculated.

Allin’s chilling theory suggests that Betsy’s fierce devotion to caring for Hackman may have unintentionally led to his demise. With no one else around to help, the legendary actor never stood a chance after her passing.

Hackman was discovered in the mudroom of their home, with records confirming that his pacemaker had stopped on February 18. Disturbingly, his stomach was completely empty — indicating he hadn’t eaten anything in the week following Betsy’s death. One of the couple’s three dogs, Zinna, was discovered deceased in a crate in the bathroom.

His passing may have been shrouded in mystery, but his legacy is crystal clear, forever etched in cinematic history.
