Popular Fox News Figure Leaving Network to Join NewsNation

Cable news network NewsNation has hired political analyst and commentator Katie Pavlich to host a program in its 10 p.m. time slot, the channel announced Monday.

Pavlich, who previously served as a political contributor and analyst for Fox News Channel, is set to begin her hosting role at NewsNation in 2026. She will take over the hour previously hosted by Ashleigh Banfield, The Hill reported.

Banfield will continue with the network and oversee its true crime digital segment, the company announced.

Pavlich’s politics-based show will cover topics “such as free speech, culture, immigration, national security, and foreign policy,” the network said in announcing her new show. The focus of her program will feature “spirited debates along with dynamic panel discussions and in-depth conversations with key newsmakers.”

“We’re pleased to give our primetime viewers an additional hour of political news and analysis that helps them make sense of the day’s most important headlines,” Sean Compton, president of Nexstar Networks, said in announcing the signing.

“NewsNation has always been committed to delivering straightforward, fact-based journalism for all Americans, which includes presenting diverse viewpoints and original ideas. Katie is a seasoned journalist and commentator, and we believe her unique voice will be a tremendous asset to our primetime audience,” Compton continued.

Pavlich, who spent more than 15 years as the chief news editor of the conservative website Townhall.com, said in a statement of her own that she looks forward to “bringing a fresh perspective on the news to Americans across the country, while presenting a venue for thoughtful debate across a wide spectrum of opinions.”

She recently left that position, according to Variety.

“Since 2013, she has also appeared regularly on FOX News Channel as a political contributor, as a guest co-host for The Five, and guest-hosting multiple primetime shows,” NewsNation said.

“Each weeknight, Ms. Pavlich will offer her sharp insight on major news and current events, covering topics such as free speech, culture, immigration, national security, and foreign policy. Her program will feature spirited debates along with dynamic panel discussions and in-depth conversations with key newsmakers,” said NewsNation.

“I am honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period in its development, and the opportunity to anchor a primetime program is an exceptional privilege,” Pavlich said in a statement.

“I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective on the news to Americans across the country, while presenting a venue for thoughtful debate across a wide spectrum of opinions. It’s a front row seat to history — I can’t wait to buckle in and get started,” she added.

A native of Arizona, Pavlich is also known for her 2012 New York Times bestseller, “Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal.”

Operation Fast and Furious was a law enforcement initiative overseen by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives during the Obama administration that involved allowing firearms to be purchased illegally and transferred across the U.S.-Mexico border to track them to higher-level drug trafficking figures.

By monitoring the movement of the weapons, the operation aimed to assist authorities in identifying and dismantling Mexican drug cartels.

However, many of the firearms were lost track of, and some were later linked to violent crimes in Mexico and the United States, including the 2010 killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

It also had the secondary purpose of serving as justification for the Obama regime to push for more gun control in the U.S.

Pavlich also wrote the book “Assault & Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women” in 2014. At NewsNation, she will join other former Fox News hosts and personalities, including Leland Vittert, Chris Stirewalt, and Geraldo Rivera.
