Ali MacGraw Retired in a Town Where People Respect Her Privacy while She Does Community Work

Ali MacGraw, an esteemed actress, rose to fame with her role in “Goodbye, Columbus,” garnering a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. She began her career after graduating from Wellesley College, where she studied art history, initially working in fashion magazines before transitioning into modeling.

In 1968, MacGraw ventured into acting, becoming renowned for her roles in successful films like “Love Story” and “Convoy and Players.” Born in April 1939 in Pound Ridge, New York, she grew up in a low-income family setting with her younger brother, Dick McGraw, experiencing challenging living conditions.

Despite her success, MacGraw’s personal life has seen ups and downs, marked by three marriages that all ended in divorce. She married her college sweetheart, Robin Hoen, at a young age and later tied the knot with producer Robert Evans and then screen icon Steve McQueen. Despite her struggles, MacGraw remains focused on motherhood and her community engagement, particularly in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she is recognized for her activism and volunteer work. Now aged 83, she embraces her life’s journey with gratitude and continues to advocate for social causes.
