News Anchor Covering LA Fires Sparks Outrage After Viewers Spot Small Detail

ABC’s David Muir faced criticism online during live coverage of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. While reporting on the deadly fires that have claimed lives and forced thousands to evacuate, viewers noticed two wooden clothespins adjusting the back of his flame-retardant jacket.

Some accused Muir of prioritizing his appearance over the tragedy, with criticism from social media, including Jack Osbourne. However, reports clarified that the pins were a practical fix for high winds during the broadcast, added by a producer moments before going live.

The wildfires, fueled by winds nearing 100 mph, have scorched 42 square miles and forced over 130,000 evacuations. Muir, known for his polished reporting, later appeared without the pins as conditions stabilized.
