MSNBC\u2019s new president, Rebecca Kutler, is making sweeping changes<\/a> at the network, with several left-leaning hosts losing their shows as part of a broader programming shake-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, the network confirmed that shows hosted by Ayman Mohyeldin, Katie Phang, and Jonathan Capehart have been canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move follows Sunday\u2019s revelation that MSNBC is also canceling \u201cThe ReidOut,\u201d the primetime program hosted by Joy Reid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision marks a major shift in the network\u2019s lineup under Kutler\u2019s leadership, as she seeks to reshape MSNBC\u2019s direction following the departure of former president Rashida Jones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Mohyeldin, Capehart, and Phang are losing their current shows, a network spokesperson confirmed that all three will remain with MSNBC in different capacities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Mohyeldin and Capehart will host new shows in different time slots, though details on when their programs will debut have not yet been provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phang, who previously anchored her show from Miami, will no longer have her own program as MSNBC closes its South Florida-based operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she will remain with the network as a legal correspondent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The network\u2019s restructuring is being driven by Kutler, whose interim role as president was made permanent earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decision has affected Alex Wagner, who previously anchored Maddow\u2019s time slot four nights a week. Wagner\u2019s future role at the network remains unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kutler\u2019s moves have sparked internal debate at MSNBC, with some employees questioning the cancellations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s canceling two hosts that made history. Alex Wagner is the first Asian-American primetime host, and Joy Reid was the first Black woman cable primetime host,\u201d an MSNBC source told The Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The source also described Kutler as \u201ctough and very corporate,\u201d adding, \u201cNot a lot of people like her, but she gets things done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Egyptian-born anchor Ayman Mohyeldin was one of several MSNBC hosts who reportedly faced internal backlash following the network\u2019s coverage of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports indicated that MSNBC sidelined Mohyeldin, along with Ali Velshi and Mehdi Hasan, amid criticism of their reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The network has denied sidelining Mohyeldin, and while Velshi remains with MSNBC, Hasan left the network after his show was canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Kutler\u2019s leadership now firmly in place, MSNBC continues to adjust its lineup and programming strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
