Tributes are pouring in after the death of 17-year-old Texas student Austin Metcalf, who passed away after being stabbed at a track and field event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per tragic reports, Frisco Police and Fire were called to an incident in the 6900 block of Stadium Lane at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas on Wednesday, April 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has since come to light that authorities were alerted to \u201can altercation between two students\u201d which \u201cresulted in one stabbing the other\u201d. The victim was 17-year-old Austin, who was at the track and field event with his twin brother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No sooner had word of the shocking incident found its way to social media did users pay tribute to the teen, while loved ones spoke about the \u201csenseless\u201d attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin\u2019s final post on X, written on March 31, has taken on particular poignance in the wake of his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFaith that god got me and my work will pay off,\u201d<\/em> the student wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other X users were quick to pay their condolences. One penned: \u201cWhat a precious heart. He was taken from the world too soon. Although we may not understand the timing, I know God has him now.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another added: \u201cPraying for Strength and Courage for the family and friends during this incredibly difficult time\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin\u2019s twin brother, Hunter, who was also there, told WFAA: \u201cAnd my brother stepped in and said, \u2018You need to move. And he\u2019s like, \u2018Make me move.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthony, it\u2019s alleged, then grabbed up his backpack and pulled out a knife. He proceeded to stab Austin in the chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunter heartbreakingly revealed how he held his brother in his arms, attempting to stop the bleeding while waiting for first responders to arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then called the twins\u2019 parents as Austin was placed on a gurney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was, and I was very concerned, so I had to find his brother, and we rushed to the hospital. And we prayed, and it\u2019s God\u2019s plan, I don\u2019t understand it, but they weren\u2019t able to save him. This is murder,\u201d Austin and Hunter\u2019s father, Jeff Metcalf, told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was a leader of men. His smile would light up the room. His passion for football was unbelievable,\u201d Jeff wrote on GoFundMe established after the stabbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karmelo Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing. He is currently being held at Collin County Jail on a $1 million bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthony\u2019s father meanwhile described his son as a \u201cgood kid,\u201d claiming he wasn\u2019t the aggressor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEveryone has already made their assumptions about my son, but he\u2019s not what they\u2019re making him out to be,\u201d Andrew Anthony told the New York Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was not the aggressor. He was not the one who started it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hearts go out to the family of Austin Metcalf. Rest in peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n
