Donald Trump passed an order that required 238 supposed criminals \u2013 American immigrants \u2013 to be transferred to what is known as the \u201cworld\u2019s worst prison<\/a>\u201d in El Salvador. Among those who were deported was a Maryland father Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was sent to the Center for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT) in El Salvador by mistake.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As immigration officials admitted making a mistake due to an\u00a0administrative error. Then, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump\u2019s administration must \u2018facilitate\u2019 Garcia\u2019s return to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US District Judge Paula Xinis said Garcia was seized \u201cwithout any lawful authority\u201d and held \u201cwithout legal basis\u201d, in \u201cdirect contravention\u201d of US law. She referred to his situation as to a \u201cgrievous error\u201d that \u201cshocks the conscience,\u201d\u00a0BBC\u00a0<\/em>reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, to this man\u2019s family\u2019s despair, this seems easier said than done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following an alleged meeting between Trump and El Salvador\u2019s leader, Nayib Bukele, it was determined that Garcia\u2019s potential return to US is up to Bukele, who isn\u2019t willing to do such a thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI hope you\u2019re not suggesting that I smuggle a terrorist into the United States. How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? Of course I\u2019m not going to do it. The question is preposterous,\u201d the El Salvador leader said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe just turned the murder capital of the world to the safest country the western hemisphere. And you want us to go back into the releasing criminals, so we can go back to the murder capital of the world, and that\u2019s not going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia is indeed an immigrant who came to the States aged 14. However, in 2019, a US immigration judge had granted him legal protection from deportation due to gang threats in his native country.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ever since his deportation to the \u201cworld\u2019s worst prison,\u201d Garcia\u2019s wife, Jennifer Stefania Vasquez Sura, has been vocal of his situation and the injustice that has been done to him and his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI will not stop fighting until I see my husband alive. Kilmar, if you can hear me, stay strong. God hasn\u2019t forgotten about you. Our children are asking when you will come home \u2026 they miss their dad so much,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to\u00a0The Telegraph,\u00a0<\/em>the US government claimed Garcia is a wife abuser, not an \u201cupstanding Maryland\u201d resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the Department of Homeland Security revealed that Garcia was handed a restraining order against his wife Jennifer Vasquez in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His wife, however, claims that she sought a restraining order out of caution because of a previous violent relationship.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter surviving domestic violence in a previous relationship, I acted out of caution after a disagreement with Kilmar by seeking a civil protective order in case things escalated,\u201d Vasquez said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, she claimed that things didn\u2019t escalate and they didn\u2019t take the matter to court. On the contrary, following the incident, they marriage only grew stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that she wouldn\u2019t stop fighting for her husband\u2019s return to America.<\/p>\n
