Melania made a rare and unexpected appearance\u2014and it sent social media into a frenzy.Because it wasn\u2019t just that she showed up\u2026 it was how she showed up that had everyone talking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proudly next to her husband<br>Melania Trump, who now splits her time between Washington, New York, and Mar-a-Lago, hasn\u2019t been as visible as she was during her husband\u2019s first term in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While she\u2019s made it clear that her approach this time around would be different, many have still been left wondering why she hasn\u2019t been&nbsp;more present&nbsp;alongside Donald Trump. Some fans have even taken to social media to express their frustration, with one person writing, \u201cIt\u2019s getting worse every day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But earlier this week, critics were silenced when Melania made a surprise appearance at President Trump\u2019s annual Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 54-year-old First Lady stood proudly next to her husband, greeting families and sharing smiles with children as she joined in on the festivities at different activity stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-canadian-brand-mackage\">Canadian brand Mackage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ditching the usual Easter pastels, Melania stunned in a sleek, vanilla-colored leather trench coat by Canadian brand Mackage, and green pointed-toe pumps from Roger Vivier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was Melania\u2019s Mackage leather trench coat that really stole the spotlight that overcast day \u2014 and not just for its sleek silhouette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a moment where U.S.-Canada relations feel chillier than usual, it\u2019s worth pointing out that Mackage, the brand behind the statement piece, was founded in Montreal back in 1999 by designer Eran Elfassy. A subtle nod to Canadian craftsmanship, wrapped in signature Melania glam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2025\/04\/23124650\/GettyImages-2211298897.jpg?resize=683%2C1024&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-168602\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With its sharp epaulets and dramatic high collar, Melania\u2019s trench coat wasn\u2019t just outerwear \u2014 it was a power move in leather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unsurprisingly, the internet had plenty to say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOMG, not a trench coat,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWasn\u2019t it like 80 degrees yesterday?,\u201d another one said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe coat is gorgeous and falls beautifully. Didn\u2019t even realize at first that it was leather,\u201d a third commenter wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-read-bunny-with-a-big-heart\">Read \u201cBunny with a Big Heart\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The White House Easter Egg Roll has been a tradition since 1878 under President Rutherford B. Hayes, though earlier versions of the event reportedly took place during Abraham Lincoln\u2019s time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s celebration had a historical twist \u2014 kids could sign a mini version of the Declaration of Independence, dress up as Founding Fathers, and dive into history with the \u201cGeorge the Star: An American250 Story\u201d activity book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2025\/04\/23124658\/GettyImages-2211291084.jpg?resize=1024%2C720&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-168603\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From the egg-rolling competition (yes, Melania blew the starting whistle) to story time with Bunny with a Big Heart, Melania was all smiles. And in true FLOTUS fashion, she wrapped the day with a reflection on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FLOTUS\/status\/1914481682675040401\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s Easter Egg Roll was filled with family, joy, and tradition \u2014 a beautiful reminder that when we come together with open hearts, love and harmony truly shine.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-leopard-print-coat\">The leopard-print coat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This wasn\u2019t the only recent moment that had people buzzing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 1 Melania turned heads at the International Women of Courage Award Ceremony in D.C., wearing a bold, leopard-print coat by designer Milly Park. With a belted waist and calfskin texture, the $11,000 showstopper oozed quiet luxury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award, established by then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in 2007, \u201crecognizes women from around the world who have demonstrated exceptional courage, strength, and leadership \u2014 often at great personal risk and sacrifice,\u201d according to the State Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2025\/04\/23124608\/GettyImages-2207992086.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-168600\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo by Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Melania\u2019s bold coat choice didn\u2019t go unnoticed \u2014 in fact, it sparked plenty of conversation. Some viewers saw deeper meaning in the dramatic animal print, with one person suggesting, \u201cShe wearing [sic] the print of an animal that\u2019s fierce. I do believe she\u2019s sending another one of her messages.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, fashion lovers were all about the design itself. One fan gushed, \u201cOhhhh\u2026\u2026Melania is so sleek &amp; chic in this coat, and I love the wide sash too!! Fabulous!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-i-am-truly-honored\">\u201dI am truly honored..\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/in-the-know\/5226013-melania-trump-women-of-courage-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Hill<\/a>, this year\u2019s award recipients included National Human Rights Commission President Henriette Da, Papua New Guinea activist Major Velena Iga, former Hamas hostage Amit Soussana, South Sudanese women\u2019s rights leader Zabib Musa Loro Bakhit, Sri Lankan journalist Namini Wijedasa, Yemeni detainees advocate Amat Al-Salam Al-Hajj, Romanian disabilities rights activist Georgiana Pascu, and marine conservationist Angelique Songco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melania delivered a remark at the ceremony, saying: \u201cLove has inspired me to embrace forgiveness, nurture empathy, and exhibit bravery in the face of unforeseen obstacles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2025\/04\/23124618\/GettyImages-2207994077.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-168601\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Milly Park, a self-taught designer from Palm Beach who designed Melanias coat, said it was one of three she gifted Melania late last year.
