Kennedy Jr. said during a Fox News interview on Thursday that the U.S. is \u201cthe sickest\u201d country on the planet and that he plans to be the \u201cdisrupter\u201d the nation\u2019s healthcare system sorely needs in order to \u201cMake America Healthy Again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are 4.2 percent of the world\u2019s population, we buy 70 percent of the pharmaceutical drugs on earth,\u201d he told host Laura Ingraham. \u201cWe spend two-to-three times what other countries spend for healthcare and we have the worst health outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe literally have the sickest population in the world. Those are the people that got us there,\u201d he continued, referencing the nation\u2019s big pharmaceutical companies. \u201cWe do need a break. This is a turning point for our nation. With RFK Jr. at the helm, the battle for accountability and real health reform is just getting started.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating the Make America Healthy Again Commission, which will be led by Kennedy, Fox News Digital exclusively&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/rfk-jr-top-health-wellness-priorities-doctors-share-input\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In outlining RFK Jr.\u2019s objectives, Fox also noted that a great many doctors \u2014 including Dr. Brett Osborn, a Florida neurosurgeon and longevity expert \u2014 believe that food is the \u201croot cause of chronic disease.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKennedy understands that fixing the&nbsp;food system is a priority,\u201d he told Fox News Digital. \u201cAmericans should expect policies to increase access to real, whole foods, counter corporate lobbying, and&nbsp;make nutrition&nbsp;a cornerstone of healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf Americans stopped consuming nutrient-deficient, ultra-processed junk laden with sugar, we wouldn\u2019t need a drug like Ozempic to compensate for poor dietary discipline,\u201d the physician also said. \u201cRemember, aside from the rare exception, a leaner body is always a healthier body.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Dino Prato, oncologist and owner of Envita Medical Centers in Arizona, echoed similar sentiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKennedy\u2019s focus on promoting&nbsp;healthier food choices could lead to reforms in food policy, such as updating dietary guidelines to reflect the importance of whole foods, limiting the marketing of unhealthy foods to children, and supporting local and sustainable food systems,\u201d he told Fox News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kennedy\u2019s focus on clean food reflects the \u201cgrowing public concern\u201d about the effects of processed foods and environmental toxins on health, Prato stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy promoting cleaner food standards and a shift toward sustainable, whole food-based dietary guidelines, we aim to address chronic diseases at their roots.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MAHA Commission aims to expand health coverage and treatment options \u201cfor beneficial lifestyle changes and disease prevention,\u201d Fox News also reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKennedy\u2019s support for value-based care models could lead to more efficient and cost-effective healthcare delivery, improving access to care for underserved populations,\u201d Prato told the outlet. \u201cThis will also incentivize the development of innovative and more affordable healthcare solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prato also said he foresees a renewed emphasis on \u201cintegrative medicine,\u201d which he said merges therapies and lifestyle changes to improve health outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKennedy\u2019s personal experience with integrative medicine could lead to increased support for and greater access to alternative and complementary therapies, potentially improving patient outcomes and reducing reliance on pharmaceuticals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kennedy also reiterated to Ingraham he\u2019s not out to deny vaccines to anyone but rather to provide Americans with access to \u201cgood science\u201d surrounding them.<\/p>\n<div class=\"684f6003e199ca137b09540a661b4c2d\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:0px 0 0px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<!-- Composite Start -->\r\n<div id=\"M940464ScriptRootC1583286\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/jsc.adskeeper.com\/k\/o\/kohajone.press.1583286.js\" async>\r\n<\/script>\r\n<!-- Composite End -->\r\n\n<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Newly sworn-in Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F.
