\nShe also has hit anthems like Good as Hell and About Damn Time that has skyrocketed to the top of the pop charts.Lizzo has some concerns over the chart-topping songs because they were designed for a black audience but are so popular among whites. That is what \u201cdisturbs her the most.\u201d
\n\u201cThis is probably the biggest criticism I\u2019ve received, and it is such a critical conversation when it comes to black artists,\u201d the singer said.
\n\u201cWhen black people see a lot of white people in the audience, they think, \u2018Well, this isn\u2019t for me.
\nThis is for them! The thing is, when a black artist reaches a certain level of popularity, it\u2019s going to be a predominantly white crowd.\u201d
\nThe intelligent singer and the business woman added, \u201cI am not making music for white people. I am a black woman. I am making music from my black experience.\u201d
\nLizzo was born Melissa Jefferson. She claims to create music \u201cfor me to heal myself (from) the experience we call life.\u201d
\nThe singer from Detroit knows that she is doing something powerful for young Black people. She wants there to be more love and self-love, as she said: \u201cWe need self-love and self-love anthems more than anybody.\u201d
\nShe added, \u201cSo am I making music for that girl right there who looks like me, who grew up in a city where she was underappreciated and picked on and made to feel unbeautiful?\u2019\u201d she asked before answering, \u201cYes.\u201d
\nLizzo also had a few choice words for the critics who are trying to paint her as a racist.It blows my mind when people say I\u2019m not making music from a black perspective-how could I not do that as a black artist?\u201d
\nMeanwhile, Kanye West, 45, made remarks about Lizzo\u2019s weight on Fox News with Tucker Carlson. West said, \u201cWhen Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots \u2014 that\u2019s a term for like telemarketer callers on Instagram \u2013 they attack her for losing weight because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it\u2019s actually unhealthy.
\n\u201cLet\u2019s get aside the fact of whether it\u2019s fashion and vogue, which it\u2019s not. Or if someone thinks she is attractive, to each his own. It\u2019s actually clinically unhealthy, and for people to promote that\u2026 it\u2019s demonic.\u201d
