{"id":3932,"date":"2024-05-06T13:16:45","date_gmt":"2024-05-06T13:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=3932"},"modified":"2024-05-06T13:16:47","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T13:16:47","slug":"5-navy-sailors-sing-1960s-songs-and-everyone-goes-wild-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=3932","title":{"rendered":"5 Navy sailors sing 1960s songs and everyone goes wild"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tasked with more than marine safety and freedom, these combat-ready sailors, armed with microphones and some wicked dance moves, are on a mission to entertain.<\/p>\n<p>Looking dapper and handsome in their whites, members of the U.S. Navy\u2019s Sea Chanters brought the house down with their pitch perfect-medley of the \u201cJersey Boys.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>posterposter<br \/>\nAnd it wasn\u2019t an impromptu show, the Navy Sea Chanters are the official U.S. Navy band, the cream of the crop musicians, that performs scheduled concerts across the country.<\/p>\n<p>In 1956, Lt. Harold Fultz, then the U.S. Navy Band\u2019s assistant leader, selected people from the United States Navy School of Music to sing chanteys and patriotic songs for the State of the Nation dinner. The band evolved, and named the official chorus of the U.S. Navy, the Sea Chanters\u2013that added women to the ensemble in 1980\u2013has a repertoire that includes classical to Broadway, and popular pop.<\/p>\n<p>The Sea Chanters are one of six ensembles of the U.S. Navy Band, others that include the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Country Current, Commodores and Cruisers.<\/p>\n<p>The band plays a pivotal role in lifting the spirit of the nation in times of mourning and celebration.<\/p>\n<p>According to its website, \u201cOne hundred seventy enlisted musicians, recruited from the finest music schools and professional musical organizations, perform over 270 public concerts and 1,300 ceremonies each year.\u201d The Navy Band entertains audiences \u201c\u2026from national concert tours to presidential inaugurals to memorial services at Arlington National Cemetery, the Navy Band proudly represents the men and women of the largest, most versatile, most capable naval force on the planet today: America\u2019s Navy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Selections From Jersey Boys - US Navy 2014\" width=\"790\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rr5alRMQyJg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>This particular ensemble captured the hearts of the nation with its homage to Broadway\u2019s Jersey Boys and features a catalog of hits like \u201cSherry Baby,\u201d \u201cBig Girls Don\u2019t Cry,\u201d and \u201cRag Doll.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The original boy band of the 1960s, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons thrilled audiences with falsettos and tenors and perfect harmonies. \u201cJersey Boys\u201d tells the story of the band\u2019s formation, success and eventual break-up of 1960s rock n\u2019 roll group The Four Seasons.<\/p>\n<p>With the Navy Band supporting them in the background, the Sea Chanters wow audiences with their stunning vocals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExcellent performance by this team! Way to go Danlie Cuenca sounds amazing and when you all hit the first harmony!!
