Elvis Presley was not only famous for his amazing music career and unique voice that blew away millions around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also had a keen eye for food and fashion (blue suede shoes, anyone?).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what not everyone might be aware of is that the rock legend also seemed to have magic fingers when it came to interior decor. This is well exemplified by the King of Rock\u2019s iconic privately-owned jet plane.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elvis purchased his own aircraft in 1962 \u2013 and saw that it be custom designed to suit him personally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A look inside and you immediately observe the beautiful wooden panels, carpet and red velvet chairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elvis owned the aircraft, a Lockheed Jetstar model, for over 35 years, but it was abandoned when he died in 1977. Among Presley\u2019s collection of private aircraft, this Lockheed was just one notable example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His fleet included a customized Convair 880 affectionately known as the \u201cLisa Marie,\u201d distinguished by its call sign, Hound Dog 1. Additionally, he possessed a second JetStar aircraft recognized as Hound Dog 2. Presley\u2019s private aircraft collection was a testament to his extravagant lifestyle and love for aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft below had been standing on a road in Roswell, New Mexico, USA, for many years. But after all this time, the plane has finally been auctioned off \u2013 and an Elvis fan(?) recently bought it via telephone for $260,000 at a Flordia auction<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the plane first lifted above the clouds, Elvis was sharing it with his father, Vernon Presley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Elvis\u2019 death, the plane has remained in a special spot in New Mexico for over 30 years. If you take a good look at the plane\u2019s exterior, you can see that its red color is rather washed out. Still, for its age, the plane is in pretty good condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a look at the inside\u2026 Let\u2019s just say I wouldn\u2019t mind taking a long flight on this aircraft. It\u2019s exactly how I would have imagined the King of Rock\u2019s style to look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u2018high-tech\u2019 tv is of course installed. The plane is mostly made up of one single large room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seats look very comfortable and there is plenty of room for guests. Behind the main room is a small kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just take a look at the microwave. It probably doesn\u2019t work anymore after all these years. At the same time, imagine Elvis walking out of his armchair, going to the kitchen to spread a classic Elvis sandwich, famously made up of peanut butter, mayonnaise, crispy bacon and banana \u2013 and then heating it in the microwave. Rock History!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a look at the bathroom! More velvet, of course, and luxurious sink. Compare this with the tight spaces offered on charter flights\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not bad at all right? I\u2019m so glad I got this sneak peak into Elvis\u2019 ultimate traveling style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane has now been auctioned out for $260K. It went up for sale at the Mecum Kissimmee Collector Car auction in Florida<\/a> on January 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new owner made bids via telephone and has not been identified<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n
