{"id":5468,"date":"2024-06-16T11:07:56","date_gmt":"2024-06-16T11:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=5468"},"modified":"2024-06-16T11:07:58","modified_gmt":"2024-06-16T11:07:58","slug":"popular-fast-food-chain-with-2100-locations-will-increase-prices-to-cover-pay-raises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=5468","title":{"rendered":"Popular fast food chain with 2,100 locations will increase prices to cover pay raises"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>After a year-long battle with labor advocates, Waffle House employees are getting a pay raise!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>And while that\u2019s great news for those employed by the fast food chain, it\u2019s bad news for their customers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/948826263\/a29bcefe1c?utm_campaign=5370367&amp;utm_source=affiliate&amp;utm_channel=affiliate&amp;cjevent=39fc00cd2a8911ef822100910a82b839&amp;clickid=39fc00cd2a8911ef822100910a82b839\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a>\u00a0message distributed last month,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/news\/loser-of-fantasy-football-league-sentenced-to-day-in-waffle-house-he-leaves-server-in-tears\/\">Waffle House<\/a>\u00a0CEO Joe Rogers III informed employees their base pay would increase at least $3 per hour in June, and then over the next two years it would eventually rise to $5.25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rogers made sure to let staff members know the base pay did not include tips and in some areas the base pay would be higher based on minimum wage laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company will also add tenure bonuses and premiums for working later shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a big deal, a massive additional investment,\u201d the CEO said in the video. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t see many others in our industry doing things like this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/06\/14200646\/shutterstock_505293322-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-151124\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Rob Wilson \/ Shutterstock.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As for how Waffle House will afford to pay its employees at its 2,100 locations\u2026 it\u2019s leaving that up to the customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diners will be forced to pay a higher price to offset employees\u2019 raises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur menu prices in a rural town are relative to competitors\u2019 menu prices in that rural town,\u201d Rogers said. \u201cSo we may not have as much room to increase prices as we have in a large city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rogers also alerted his employees that customers \u201care going to expect more when they pay more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Does this news change your opinion about Waffle House?
