Back to the Future<\/em> star Michael J.Fox made an unexpected appearance at Glastonbury Festival this weekend.<\/strong>The 63-year-old actor joined none other than Coldplay<\/a> on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night (29 June).Fox<\/a> was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s<\/a> aged just 29 in 1991, and subsequently retired from acting in 2020 due to his worsening symptoms.He has been extremely open about living with the disease, previously opening up on his \u2018darkest moment\u2019<\/a> and how he \u2018doesn\u2019t fear death\u2019<\/a>.Fox had the Glastonbury<\/a> crowd in tears, as he joined the band on stage to play the guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But fans were left flawed when frontman Chris Martin revealed that the acting legend is partly the reason that Coldplay were formed.Addressing the masses, he said: \u201cThe main reason why we\u2019re in a band is because of watching Back to the Future<\/em>, so thank you to our hero forever and one of the most amazing people on Earth, Mr Michael J. Fox.\u201cThank you so much, Michael.\u201dFox joined the band for their tear-jerking tracks \u2018Fix You\u2019 and \u2018Humankind\u2019 \u2013 which definitely became a magical moment for fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others branded it a \u2018very cool\u2019 moment.And this isn\u2019t the first time Fox has captured an audience, he had crowds in \u2018floods of tears\u2019 earlier this year when he presented the BAFTA for \u2018Best Film\u2019<\/a>.In a moving speech, the actor said: \u201cThere\u2019s a reason why they say movies are magic, because movies can change your day, they can change your outlook, they can sometimes even change your life.\u201dColdplay made history at this year\u2019s Glastonbury Festival by becoming the first band to ever headline the Pyramid Stage five times.The British band made their Glastonbury debut in 1999, performing in the New Bands Tent \u2013 fast forward three years to them headlining the festival for the first time in 2002 and then again in 2005, 2011 and 2016.While Coldplay\u2019s set at Glastonbury is done and dusted, the festival is far from over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actor was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s in 1991 before opening up his research foundation in 2000Michael J. Fox has revealed he\u2019s not afraid of death in a candid interview about his health.The\u00a0Back to the Future<\/em>\u00a0star was first\u00a0diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0in 1991, and in a recent interview on Thursday (2 November), he has discussed his relationship with death, saying he \u2018doesn\u2019t fear it\u2019.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Parkinson\u2019s disease is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged.The main symptoms of the condition usually revolve around movement, with the person experiencing tremors in the hand or arm, slowness of movement and muscle stiffness.In his documentary, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie<\/em>, the star recalled the first time he noticed the signs of the disease.<\/a>He recounted waking up one morning to find his pinky finger twitching uncontrollably, and described the finger as \u2018auto-animated.\u2019However, Fox<\/a> didn\u2019t open up about his diagnosis until several years later in 1998.In the documentary, he also added that \u2018no one outside of the family knew\u2019 about his diagnosis.And now, in an interview with Town & Country, he\u2019s discussed his \u2018complicated\u2019 view of Parkinson\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cIt\u2019s very complicated. I\u2019ve said Parkinson\u2019s is a gift. It\u2019s the gift that keeps on taking, but it has changed my life in so many positive ways.\u201dThe Stuart Little <\/em>star has been very candid in the past about how Parkinson\u2019s has affected his life.The 62-year-old previously spoke about how life was \u2018getting harder\u2019 since his diagnosis \u2013 with him breaking bones in his body and almost losing a finger due to an infection.<\/a>He\u2019d told CBS Sunday Morning in April that he didn\u2019t think he\u2019d live to be 80.<\/a>\u201c[Parkinson\u2019s is] banging on the door. I\u2019m not gonna lie. It\u2019s gettin\u2019 hard, it\u2019s gettin\u2019 harder. It\u2019s gettin\u2019 tougher. Every day it\u2019s tougher. But, that\u2019s the way it is.\u201d he said.Adding: \u201cYou don\u2019t die from Parkinson\u2019s. You die with Parkinson\u2019s. So I\u2019ve been thinking about the mortality of it \u2026 I\u2019m not gonna be 80. I\u2019m not gonna be 80.\u201dHowever, it seems that Fox has accepted the possibility of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m 62 years old.\u201dCertainly, if I were to pass away tomorrow, it would be premature, but it wouldn\u2019t be unheard of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
