Prince William<\/a> revealed that him and his brother would rock out to Tina Turner\u2019s<\/a> \u2018The Best<\/em>\u2018 on back-to-school drives, with Princess Diana<\/a> taking the main stage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

William, the future king<\/a>, normalized the monarchy when he shared sweet memories of his mom, trying to relieve the boy\u2019s level of anxiety on their return to boarding school.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It felt like a real family moment. And my mother, she\u2019d be driving along, singing at the top of her voice,\u201d he said.<\/strong> Keep reading to learn more about the future king\u2019s favorite tunes and his favorite \u201ctonic for a Monday morning.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2021, Prince William took the audience of Apple\u2019s Time to Walk<\/em> series on a journey through Sandringham Estate, one of the royal residences of his father, King Charles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing memories while he walked through the grounds, William then spoke of his favorite songs that trigger fond moments from his childhood to his present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of those special childhood memories is of his mother, Princess Diana, and the song she played for him and Prince Harry to ease their back-to-school jitters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That song is the late Tina Turner\u2019s The Best<\/em>, a song he still enjoys to keep his mother\u2019s memory alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I was younger, Harry and I, we were at boarding school. My mother used to play all sorts of songs to kind of while away the anxiety of going back to school,\u201d Prince William said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd one of the songs I massively remember and has stuck with me all this time, and I still, to this day, still quite enjoy secretly, is Tina Turner\u2019s \u2018The Best<\/em>\u2019 because sitting in the backseat, singing away, it felt like a real family moment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Princess Diana, heading the chorus, would sing along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd my mother, she\u2019d be driving along, singing at the top of her voice. And we\u2019d even get the policeman in the car, he\u2019d be occasionally singing along, as well,\u201d William said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future king added: \u201cYou\u2019d be singing and listening to the music right the way out into the gates of school, when they dropped you off. And, and that\u2019s when reality kind of sunk in that you really were going back to school because before that, you\u2019re lost in songs. You\u2019ll want to play it again just to keep that family moment going.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I listen to it now, it takes me back to those car rides and brings back lots of memories of my mother.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children\u2019s choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Taking those precious memories and applying it to his own parenting style, William shares that he now creates special music moments with his own children, Prince George, 10, eight-year-old Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who turns six on April 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMost mornings there\u2019s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played in the morning. And I have to, now, basically prioritize that one day someone does this one, and another day it\u2019s someone else\u2019s turn,\u201d said the royal. \u201cSo George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamor for the music.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prince added that one of the songs his children were loving at the time was Shakira\u2019s \u2018Waka Waka<\/em>\u2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Best tonic for a Monday morning\u2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For his third song, William selected AC\/DC\u2019s \u2018Thunderstruck<\/em>\u2018, saying that it\u2019s a great song to get you moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He shared: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you\u2019re a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC\/DC, \u2018Thunderstruck<\/em>.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

William continued: \u201cI have to say the first time I put it on, and I\u2019ve heard it a million times now, I was kind of like, \u2018Well, this is quite heavy for a Monday morning.\u2019 But now, when I listen to it, it\u2019s the best tonic for a Monday morning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019d imagine you\u2019re going to walk quite fast listening to it, maybe with a skip in your step, with the head-banging. It\u2019s a difficult song not to dance to or to nod along to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sweet memories of Tina Turner that Prince William shared is \u201csimply the best!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
