{"id":7042,"date":"2024-07-19T13:14:58","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T13:14:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=7042"},"modified":"2024-07-19T13:14:59","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T13:14:59","slug":"kroger-customer-abandons-shopping-cart-full-of-groceries-due-to-increasingly-common-complaint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=7042","title":{"rendered":"Kroger customer abandons shopping cart full of groceries due to increasingly common complaint"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For better or worse, despite efforts to bring cashiers back into stores, it appears that self checkout lanes are here to stay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recently, Kroger has faced some backlash for their lack of open registers, and in two of the instances the corporation apologized for the inconvenience and promised to work with the customer to make things better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>But will things actually change or will the customers just receive a coupon for their inconvenience?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, a man named Michael Keefe wrote to Kroger on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Michael_keefe1\/status\/1811946437883691171\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X<\/a>&nbsp;complaining about his local store\u2019s self checkout lanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c@kroger self checkout stinks. If you this is the future I\u2019m headed to Publix,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company responded, saying they would share his concerns with their Internal Teams \u201cfor review.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cStart with if a store is open, there should always be 1 line open with a human cashier,\u201d Keefe&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Michael_keefe1\/status\/1812295466148597986\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">added<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/15140312\/shutterstock_2245009065-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-147001\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several days later another complaint popped up online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time a Kroger customer called out their local supermarket for what they called a \u201cno cashier available after 7pm-ish\u201d rule that has been going on \u201cfor over a year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"611\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-2024-07-19-151352.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7043\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-2024-07-19-151352.png 611w, https:\/\/kohajone.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-2024-07-19-151352-229x300.png 229w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than stand in line and wait to use the self checkout, the customer said they abandoned their cart full of $200 worth of groceries and left the store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s ridiculous that customers are expected to ring up and bag our own groceries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again, Kroger&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kroger\/status\/1813202305220534532\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">responded<\/a>&nbsp;to the frustrated customer, but this time they asked for the customer\u2019s rewards ID that was used to check out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oops. If only Kroger had read their unhappy customer\u2019s original tweet!
