His colleagues and fans have since sent tributes to him, with some recalling all the things he was good at. Before he passed, he got one of the highest honors of his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sfo3.digitaloceanspaces.com\/blogbucket\/media\/paragraph_photos\/Jacoby_Jonesvvv.webp?AWSAccessKeyId=DO00TPZLLJWNJ769MC7N&amp;Signature=OiyJ4G75pFQgqk9A70gI8Vh01g0%3D&amp;Expires=1721570056\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On July 14, 2024, the world lost a talented football player when Jacoby Jones died at home while sleeping. The Lane College third-round draft pick was 40 when he passed away overnight. J.J. Watt, the Texans\u2019 football defensive end, took to X to share a picture of the late athlete in action. He recalled, \u201cJacoby was one of the most fun-loving teammates and people I\u2019ve ever been around.\u201d<br>J.J. said the late star was always laughing and dancing, and his smile was permanently on his face. \u201cGone far, far too soon,\u201d he added before signing off with \u201cR.I.P Jacoby Jones.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Torrey Smith also honored Jacoby with several throwback pictures on X. He called the late athlete his \u201cbrother,\u201d thanking God for the memories they made and the impact Jacoby had on the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Torrey described the late star as \u201c1 of 1,\u201d noting how his field plays and jokes will \u201clive on forever!\u201d He also shared that they would be looking after Emily and Jacoby\u2019s son forever before confessing that his death hurt him. Torrey concluded by saying Jacoby will be missed. \u201cLove you bro!\u201d read the end of his caption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Baltimore Ravens also released a statement saying they were \u201ccompletely heartbroken\u201d upon learning about Jacoby\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team recalled how the athlete had the \u201cunique ability\u201d to connect with all those he came across. His joy, charisma, and love created a \u201cone-of-a-kind presence\u201d that lit up rooms and brightened dark days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ravens said long after he\u2019s gone, Jacoby will be remembered for his successful career on the football field. But his lasting connections made in the Baltimore community, in the Ravens, and in the places he called home will also live on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team offered support to his family by sharing their condolences with them as they all started processing the loss. John described him as a light and the \u201ccherished son\u201d of his mother, whom the \u201cman of faith\u201d was very close to. The head coach even recalled one of his favorite football plays by the late athlete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John remembered that on that day, just before the late-game kickoff return, Jacoby was in the end zone talking to his mother in a snowstorm shootout. He hoped the late athlete would rest in peace in Jesus\u2019 arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ray Lewis, the Ravens Hall of Fame linebacker, also accompanied his X post with several photos of his late colleague. Just like Torrey, he called Jacoby his brother and revealed that he would be missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey can\u2019t take the memories and the hard work you put in on and off the football field. You always gave back and always a pillar in the community, a @Ravens for life,\u201d Ray further expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sfo3.digitaloceanspaces.com\/blogbucket\/media\/paragraph_photos\/Jacoby_Jonesvvvv.webp?AWSAccessKeyId=DO00TPZLLJWNJ769MC7N&amp;Signature=HN2ceUhTO%2Bm0%2BpTPB1X8%2FvYAiuo%3D&amp;Expires=1721570056\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharing a GIF of Jacoby scoring a goal and celebrating with a dance, Pat McAfee described him as \u201can absolute legend.\u201d He confirmed that everyone he met had loved the athlete who \u201clit up every room\/field.\u201d \u201cRest easy my brother..we will miss your presence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Robert Griffin III also honored Jacoby with a picture of him celebrating on the field with his Ravens teammates. He sent prayers to the Super Bowl Champion\u2019s friends, family, and loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Calling the athlete a \u201cBaltimore Ravens Legend,\u201d Robert described him as a \u201ctriple threat,\u201d who was fast, funny, and could dance. He also noted how Jacoby will be missed and that he was taken from them too soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharing a black-and-white image of the late athlete, the Houston Texans said they were \u201cdeeply saddened\u201d to hear about his death. The team sent their thoughts and prayers to his family. Jacoby\u2019s fans also shared their condolences and grief on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jacoby\u2019s fans also posted about him, with one parent sharing pictures on X of the star posing and interacting with her two sons. \u201cRIP Jacoby Gone too soon. He coached Morgan State\u2019s tight ends and Calvert Hall High School\u2019s receivers in Baltimore before moving on.
