Controversial sports commentator Jason Whitlock has sparked outrage after branding Simone Biles a \u2018borderline midget\u2019 in an offensive rant on his latest podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitlock, who is renowned for sharing divisive opinions, also rubbished claims that the USA gymnastics legend should be considered an all-time great athlete despite her record-breaking success at this summer\u2019s Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biles became the most decorated American gymnast in history after sweeping up three gold medals and a silver in Paris, taking her overall tally at the Olympics to 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though despite her breathtaking performances in the team, all-around and vault events, Whitlock does not believe she is up there with the GOATs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the latest episode of his \u2018Fearless\u2019 show, the outspoken podcast host told boxing reporter Steve Kim that most Olympics fans \u2018don\u2019t even understand gymnastics\u2019 and that Biles should not be regarded as a great for that very reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He first pulled up a photo of the 27-year-old on influencer Alex Cooper\u2019s Call Her Daddy podcast and said: \u2018Simone Biles\u2019 feet don\u2019t touch the floor. That\u2019s a borderline midget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018And we\u2019re doing all this, \u201cOh my god she\u2019s the greatest of all time, she\u2019s the greatest athlete of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Most of us don\u2019t even understand gymnastics, we don\u2019t know how it\u2019s scored, we don\u2019t know what\u2019s good or bad. But we all pretend every four years like, \u201cOh my god, what an incredible athlete! She\u2019s the greatest, she\u2019s the Jesse Owens [of gymnastics], she\u2019s the Serena Williams, she\u2019s the Michael Jordan.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim, however, fired back at Whitlock by arguing that gymnasts should definitely be in the conversation when all-time great athletes are discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018When you take a look at every list that says greatest athletes in the world, to me gymnasts and decathletes are right up there,\u2019 he replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018They don\u2019t play major sports that we care about, but the things that they can do with their bodies, catapulting themselves in the air and flipping, and their high-twitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I get it, she\u2019s not as big as [basketball icon] Kevin Garnett. But generally to do that stuff, less is more.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitlock then cruelly responded: \u2018She\u2019s not as big as Kevin Garnett\u2019s thigh.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conservative columnist has received a huge backlash for mocking Biles over her height, with fans ripping into him after he released a clip of his rant on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One sarcastically wrote: \u2018Wow! You\u2019re hating on Simone Bikes for being short?! You are a class act, Whitlock. I want to see you hit that vault.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another suggested he is reading from a script on the podcast by saying: \u2018If you had even a shred of self awareness or self respect, you would have declined to do this when they wrote it for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018But they can make you attack Simone Biles because they know you have no shame, no options, and no one who cares enough about you to tell you it\u2019s bad.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans took issue with Whitlock\u2019s comments about Biles, with one branding him \u2018jealous\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A third user pointed out: \u2018She is the most decorated gymnast ever. That qualifies her as the Goat, does it not? With 11 Olympic medals and 32 world medals.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fourth fumed: \u2018You are a certified idiot and what have you done that\u2019s worthy of remembering? Jealous because she commands an audience, she has fans, she is talented even as a petite woman. What\u2019s your excuse?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While one simply joked: \u2018Let\u2019s see you do what she does Jason. Get out on that balance beam.\u2019<\/p>\n
