{"id":7479,"date":"2024-08-09T13:58:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T13:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=7479"},"modified":"2024-08-09T13:58:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T13:58:33","slug":"mom-reads-anl-s3-x-passage-from-school-library-book-keeps-going-after-they-cut-her-mic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/?p=7479","title":{"rendered":"Mom Reads An@l S3. x Passage From School Library Book, Keeps Going After They Cut Her Mic"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kara Bell, a mother and former Lake Travis Independent School District board member candidate, was outraged when she stood to address a board meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bell was livid as she read a passage from a middle school library book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She read out, \u201cTake her out back, we boys figured, then hand on the t***ies, put it in her cornbox, put it in her cornhole, grab a hold of that braid, rub that calico,\u201d and added, \u201cYou can find that on page 39 of the book called \u2018Out of Darkness,\u2019 which you can find at Hudson Bend Middle School and Bee Cave Middle School.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opposingviews.com\/.image\/t_share\/MTg0MTYzODYyNjg4MzExMTcx\/mother2.png\" alt=\"Photo Credit: Cozy Media\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Photo Credit:&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WdIc5DeOtdY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cozy Media<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The book, a 2015 young adult novel, is authored by Ashley Hope P\u00e9rez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bell stated: \u201cAll right, not gonna lie, had to Google \u2018cornhole\u2019 because I have the game in the back of my yard. But according to Wikipedia, \u2018cornhole\u2019 is a sexual slang vulgarism for anus. The term came into \u2026 use in the 1910s in the United States \u2026 its verb form \u2018to cornhole,\u2019 which came into usage in the 1930s, means to have anal sex.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI do not want my children to learn about anal sex in middle school! I\u2019ve never had anal sex! I don\u2019t want to have anal sex! I don\u2019t want my kids having anal sex! I want you to start focusing on education and not public health!\u201d she raged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opposingviews.com\/.image\/t_share\/MTg0MTYzODYyNjg4Mzc2NzA3\/mother3.png\" alt=\"Photo Credit: Cozy Media\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Photo Credit:&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WdIc5DeOtdY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cozy Media<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Her microphone was cut off at this point, but she can still be heard on video stating: \u201cYou are not public health officials; you are supposed to be educating our children! Do not teach them about anal sex!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The school district later revealed that the book had been removed from both middle school libraries and that its contents would be reviewed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A district spokesperson, citing the school board policy, stated: \u201cA district possesses significant discretion to determine the content of its school libraries. A district must, however, exercise its discretion in a manner consistent with the First Amendment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opposingviews.com\/.image\/t_share\/MTg0MTYzODYyNjg4Mzc2NjYx\/mother4.png\" alt=\"Photo Credit: Cozy Media\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo Credit:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WdIc5DeOtdY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cozy Media<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The spokesperson continued, saying that the \u201cdistrict shall not remove materials from a library for the purpose of denying students access to ideas with which the district disagrees.
