Esperance Fuerzina is a Guinness World Record holder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The most tattooed woman in the world, whose body is 99.8 percent covered in tats, has explained why she decided to coat herself in ink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esperance Fuerzina, 36, from\u00a0Connecticut, has tattoos all over her body \u2013 from her scalp right down to the soles of her feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019s even inked some of the most sensitive parts of the body, including her eyelids, eyeballs, gums, tongue and genitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After growing up in a military family and living all over the States as well as\u00a0Japan, Fuerzina, who is an army veteran, got her first tattoo when she was 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some 15 years on and she now holds the record for the woman with the most tattoos as well as the most body modifications in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only did Fuerzina split her tongue in 2014, she\u2019s also had 15 subdermal implants, several piercings and some other rather unique mods, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include removing both of her nipples, injecting her split tongue with ink and doing the same to her inner labia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many people with tattoos find that once they have one, they\u2019re often left wanting more, but with barely an inch left on Fuerzina\u2019s body, many have wondered why she decided to get so many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the answer is really quite simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explaining that she treats her skin like a canvas, Fuerzina\u2019s decision stemmed from her being in the\u00a0military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having become accustomed to\u00a0travelling\u00a0light, instead of carrying around sentimental items such as photos, she inked them on her skin instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have had a pretty nomadic life, and not much room in my [army] pack, I felt I could take this with me wherever I go. It\u2019s just a small moment for something I can keep for life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She currently holds the world record (SWNS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite having only 0.2 percent of her body left without tats, Fuerzina has said she\u2019s not done yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the\u00a0Guinness World Record\u00a0she\u2019s achieved, she\u00a0explained: \u201cI was initially a little apprehensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut I wanted to try to showcase the strength of women, and what\u2019s possible, by applying for the record myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInitially, beginning my journey wasn\u2019t something I ever thought possible and, in the course of being myself, it became a reality\u2026 though holding the record is still sinking in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy aim for many years has been moving towards cohesiveness, so ultimately, I love the flow being generated as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a small moment for something I can keep for life.\u201d<\/p>\n
