As I\u2019ve said before, there\u2019s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there\u2019s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end, and I think he has been there in that space.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jimmy Carter holds the record as the oldest living president in history, a milestone he achieved following the de:at:h of George H.W. Bush in 2018, who was 94.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carter has endured a lot of health challenges, including metastatic brain canc:er, liver ca:ncer, and brain surgery following a fall in 2019. He entered hospice care in February 2023 after multiple hospitalizations and made a rare public appearance at his wife\u2019s memorial service in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"581\" height=\"793\" src=\"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot_372.png.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9121\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kohajone.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot_372.png.webp 581w, https:\/\/kohajone.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot_372.png-220x300.webp 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy grandmother\u2019s passing was a difficult moment for all of us, including my grandfather.\u201d, Jason Carter remarked, reflecting on the recent loss of his grandmother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cThe outpouring of love and support that we, as a family, received from people in this room and from the rest of the world was so remarkable and meaningful to us. And it really turned that whole process into a celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a staunch advocate for mental health, Rosalynn Carter made it a central focus during her tenure as both Georgia\u2019s First Lady and the First Lady of the United States. In 1977, she spearheaded the President\u2019s Commission on Mental Health, leading to significant advancements in research funding, treatment access, and innovative mental health care approaches.<br><br>Additionally, Jason Carter highlighted the significance of his grandmother\u2019s work in mental health, particularly concerning caregiving, as he reflected on moments spent with his grandfather over the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He recounted a conversation they had while watching an Atlanta Braves game together. \u201cI said, \u2018Pa Pa \u2026 people ask me how you\u2019re doing and I say I don\u2019t know.\u2019 And he said, \u2018Well, I don\u2019t know myself.\u2019 And so, he\u2019s still there,\u201d Jason recalled, laughing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former president\u2019s health has been a topic of considerable public interest, especially since he entered hospice care. In a February interview with CBS, Jason Carter affirmed that his grandfather\u2019s spirit remains \u201cas strong as ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before his political career, Carter was a peanut farmer and served as a US Navy lieutenant.
