Although they could be used for any type of nut, they were particularly useful for eating chestnuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.browsefeed.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/2-9.jpg?resize=696%2C441&amp;ssl=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.browsefeed.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/2-9.jpg?resize=696%2C441&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14480\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nutcrackers like these were often part of seafood tool sets, which included implements for cracking shellfish and picks for extracting the meat.
