MSNBC’s new president, Rebecca Kutler, is making sweeping changes at the network, with several left-leaning hosts losing their shows as part of a broader programming shake-up.

On Monday, the network confirmed that shows hosted by Ayman Mohyeldin, Katie Phang, and Jonathan Capehart have been canceled.

The move follows Sunday’s revelation that MSNBC is also canceling “The ReidOut,” the primetime program hosted by Joy Reid.

The decision marks a major shift in the network’s lineup under Kutler’s leadership, as she seeks to reshape MSNBC’s direction following the departure of former president Rashida Jones.

While Mohyeldin, Capehart, and Phang are losing their current shows, a network spokesperson confirmed that all three will remain with MSNBC in different capacities.

Both Mohyeldin and Capehart will host new shows in different time slots, though details on when their programs will debut have not yet been provided.

Phang, who previously anchored her show from Miami, will no longer have her own program as MSNBC closes its South Florida-based operations.

However, she will remain with the network as a legal correspondent.

The network’s restructuring is being driven by Kutler, whose interim role as president was made permanent earlier this month.

One of her first major moves was parting ways with Joy Reid, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, by canceling her show.

Additionally, MSNBC is relying on its highest-paid star, Rachel Maddow, to return to a full five-day schedule—at least for the first 100 days of the new Trump administration.

This decision has affected Alex Wagner, who previously anchored Maddow’s time slot four nights a week. Wagner’s future role at the network remains unclear.

Kutler’s moves have sparked internal debate at MSNBC, with some employees questioning the cancellations.

“She’s canceling two hosts that made history. Alex Wagner is the first Asian-American primetime host, and Joy Reid was the first Black woman cable primetime host,” an MSNBC source told The Post.

The source also described Kutler as “tough and very corporate,” adding, “Not a lot of people like her, but she gets things done.”

Egyptian-born anchor Ayman Mohyeldin was one of several MSNBC hosts who reportedly faced internal backlash following the network’s coverage of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

Reports indicated that MSNBC sidelined Mohyeldin, along with Ali Velshi and Mehdi Hasan, amid criticism of their reporting.

The network has denied sidelining Mohyeldin, and while Velshi remains with MSNBC, Hasan left the network after his show was canceled.

With Kutler’s leadership now firmly in place, MSNBC continues to adjust its lineup and programming strategy.

The extent of these changes—and their impact on the network’s viewership—remains to be seen.
