Obama discussed the challenges she faces during bedtime with her husband

This week, former First Lady Michelle Obama attracted attention once more by disclosing personal insights about her life and routines. In an interview on “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce,” Obama discussed the challenges she faces during bedtime with her husband, former President Barack Obama.

“Hello, I’m Michelle Obama, and I must admit…bedtime is my favorite part of the day. My husband often jokes about how early I prefer to sleep. He simply doesn’t grasp the joy of settling into comfortable sheets, and that’s perfectly fine,” Obama stated at the start of the conversation.

“If we have guests over, I’m fully engaged, participating, laughing, and conversing. However, once the gathering concludes, I strive to avoid going to bed before sunset,” she elaborated.

“What would you consider the ideal bedtime?” Kelce inquired.

“Honestly, any time after dinner,” Obama replied with a chuckle.

“That sounds wonderful,” Kelce concurred, adding, “As someone who enjoys the AARP special reservation—which is at 5:30—I would love to be in bed by around 8:30.”

Obama also mentioned that her daughters, Sasha and Malia, were good sleepers.

Later in the interview, she expressed her disinterest in politics as a mother of two.

“I felt such relief when we left the White House,” the 61-year-old shared, referring to the conclusion of her husband’s second term in 2017.

“I wanted them to experience life without the constant scrutiny of the public eye. They still face paparazzi and are navigating their own identities,” she remarked about her daughters.

Consequently, Michelle stated, “When people inquire if I would ever consider running for office, my answer is a definitive no.”

She emphasized that those who ask “have no comprehension of the sacrifices children make when their parents hold such positions.”

The former attorney concluded, “Not only am I uninterested in politics in that capacity…”

Regarding Michelle, she believes that the issue has been “asked and answered” and asserts that it is “never going to happen.” She stated, “They’ve already served their time. … It would be unthinkable. Nope.”

Following the release of her new podcast, “IMO (In My Opinion),” Michelle Obama faced significant criticism on social media due to its disappointing viewership compared to other political programs on YouTube.

On March 10, Obama and her brother Craig Robinson launched their video podcast, with the first two episodes made available on the following Wednesday. However, on their debut day, the episodes garnered only 15,000 and 47,000 views, respectively. In contrast, Joe Rogan’s podcast attracts between 500,000 and 56 million viewers and listeners per episode, while California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast achieved over 743,000 views on YouTube during its premiere.

Many social media users mocked the former first lady for her “abysmal” viewership figures. One user on X, previously known as Twitter, posted a screenshot of the view count on Obama’s YouTube channel, commenting, “Michelle Obama’s first couple podcast episodes absolutely flopped, not even reaching a combined 20,000 views in the 15 hours after posting. The comments are filled with people saying ‘nobody asked for this.’ What an utter failure. Who thought this was a good idea?”
