Malia and Sasha Obama, now in their 20s, have grown up in the spotlight with grace and independence. During the pandemic, they moved back home, sharing unexpected quality time with their parents, Barack and Michelle. Malia, born in 1998, graduated from Harvard in 2021 and pursued a career in film.

She’s earned praise for her writing and directing work, including on the Prime Video series Swarm and her short film The Heart. Sasha, born in 2001, is known for her lively personality.

She earned her sociology degree from USC in 2023 after starting college at the University of Michigan. In 2022, the sisters moved in together in Los Angeles, decorating their apartment on a budget and supporting each other’s growth. Michelle called their bond a parent’s dream come true.

While following different paths, Malia and Sasha remain close, grounded by the strong values their parents instilled in them.
