Tensions are running high behind the scenes at ABC’s daytime talk show “The View” as co-hosts reportedly face pressure to ease up on their attacks against President Trump. According to an insider, the show’s executive producer, Brian Teta, has asked the panel—Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro—to tread carefully when discussing the 47th president. The directive reportedly came in the weeks leading up to Trump’s inauguration, signaling a shift in ABC’s handling of political discourse.
While “The View” continues to draw in an impressive 2.6 million viewers in the last four weeks, the mood behind the scenes is anything but celebratory. At least nine staff members, including veteran producers Jamie Hammer and Audrey Jones, were let go in a cost-cutting move. One insider described the decision as “shocking” and said morale has plummeted as employees worry about further cuts.
