Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, has praised the Princess of Wales after she completed the National Three Peaks Challenge during her cancer recovery. He said her determination reminded him of her childhood love of nature and hiking, describing her achievement as truly inspiring.

The challenge involved climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales within 24 hours to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Goldsmith said Kate’s strength and resilience throughout her recovery have impressed both her family and the public.

Goldsmith also spoke about his own serious health scare, revealing that he nearly died in 2025 because of complications related to liver disease. Following the ordeal, he made major lifestyle changes, including losing weight, improving his health, and relying on the support of his sister Carole Middleton and other family members.

According to Goldsmith, Kate encouraged him to prioritize his well-being by getting more rest and adopting healthier habits. While he has faced public controversy in the past, including a 2017 assault conviction that resurfaced during his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother UK, he says his focus is now on his health, family, and moving forward.
