Early one morning, I walked into the bathroom and immediately froze when I noticed a strange, twisted object lying on the floor. It looked dry, fragile, and completely out of place. For a moment, I wondered whether it could be something dangerous, perhaps an insect, parasite, or even part of an animal.
My cat was nearby, which made the discovery seem even more mysterious. I carefully examined the object from a distance before searching for possible explanations. The more I looked at it, the stranger it seemed, and none of the possibilities I found online gave me much confidence.
Eventually, curiosity won over fear, and I carefully picked it up. The object was extremely light and brittle, almost crumbling when touched. That was when I realized it was not anything I had initially imagined. It was the dried, mummified remains of a tiny frog.
The frog had become so completely dehydrated that its body had shriveled into an unusual shape, making it almost impossible to recognize at first glance. The discovery was surprisingly sad. It was easy to imagine the tiny creature once moving around outside before somehow ending up inside the house.
After cleaning the area and washing my hands, the bathroom quickly returned to normal. Yet the strange discovery stayed in my thoughts. What had initially looked frightening turned out to be a quiet reminder of how fragile life can be—and how sometimes the most mysterious things have surprisingly simple explanations.
