Turning 107 is an extraordinary milestone, but Joana Ricardina, affectionately known as Dinha, celebrated hers with plenty of personality. In May 2023, her family gathered in rural Itiruçu, Bahia, Brazil, to mark her birthday. Knowing how much Joana loved pink and Barbie dolls, they decided to create a celebration inspired by her favorite things.

The family’s most memorable idea was a giant, life-sized Barbie box. Painted bright pink and personalized with “Dinha” instead of Barbie’s name, the display quickly became the centerpiece of the celebration. Dressed from head to toe in pink, Joana happily stepped inside and posed among pink-and-gold balloons.

Joana appeared to embrace the fun completely. According to her family, she joked about being placed inside the “little box” and laughed about looking like a Barbie herself. The celebration showed that age had not stopped her from enjoying a playful moment surrounded by the people she loved.

There was also a pink birthday cake, and Joana reportedly insisted on cutting it herself before handing pieces to her guests. Her family said birthdays have long been an important tradition, bringing relatives together year after year to celebrate her life and create new memories.
