PFC Alexandr Frango was just 19 years old when he passed away unexpectedly in Washington State on September 8, 2026. Born on July 24, 2007, in Taraclia County, Moldova, to Veaceslav and Maria Frango, he was the couple’s firstborn child and the first grandchild on both sides of the family. From the beginning, he was deeply loved and remembered for his warm smile and wonderful sense of humor.

Family and friends describe Alexandr as someone who was impossible not to like. He greeted people he passed on the road, asked thoughtful questions as a child, kept his room carefully organized, and excelled in school. He developed a passion for chess and eventually became good enough to defeat the man who taught him. When he learned guitar, he practiced with the same determination until he mastered it.

Alexandr was baptized on January 19, 2025. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a doctor, but eventually chose a different path by serving in the United States Army. His family initially worried about his decision to enlist, but Alexandr believed someone needed to step forward and defend his country. Those who served alongside him remembered his discipline, strong work ethic, and dependability.

He was laid to rest with full military honors at Rose Hill Cemetery on Saturday, September 26, 2026, following a service at Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville, Indiana. The ceremony brought together family, friends, fellow service members, and others who came to honor a young life that ended far too soon.

Alexandr is survived by his parents, his sisters Adelina and Sabina, his brother Veaceslav, and many relatives and friends who will carry his memory forward. His life was brief, but the love he gave to those around him left a lasting impression. Rest in peace, PFC Frango, and thank you for your service. 🇺🇸
