According to a recent USA Today sports reporter, Colin Kaepernick, a former NFL player, is the “most important athlete of the decade.”
An anchor compliments Kaepernick
Chris Korman praised Colin Kaepernick for his historic National Anthem protests, in which he took a knee during the patriotic hymn to express his disapproval of racial unfairness in the United States, on the USA Today “For The Win” website.

According to Korman, Kaepernick’s protests “worked as intended,” which makes him “important.”
In order to get us to talk about the topics he wanted us to talk about—police violence against black men and the systemic racism that supports it and shapes so much of how we live and have always lived in America—he first sat and then knelt during the playing of the national anthem, according to Korman.

Korman Is Not Correct
But Korman is incorrect to present this case. The Black Lives Matter campaign was already underway by the time Kaepernick started kneeling. Therefore, the problems that he claimed to be attempting to bring to light were previously known to everyone.
